The OnePlus Nord is an Android-based smartphone that was launched on 21 July 2020. It is the first device in the Nord series from the company. OnePlus released its first mid-range smartphone since 2015’s OnePlus X in Europe, India, Hong Kong, and Malaysia. However, it’s not available in the United States yet, and it’s still unclear when it will be available in the U.S. As of this writing, it is only available in Europe, India, and Hong Kong.
The OnePlus Nord comes in three variants: the 6GB/64GB model that’s exclusive to India, the 8GB/128GB model, and the 12GB/256GB model. All three variants come with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.1 storage modules. While these are both modern and feature-rich, OnePlus saves costs by not using the latest technologies. The LPDDR4X RAM is nearly identical to LPDDR5 RAM, which means that it’s a great option for anyone who’s not worried about the upcoming 5G revolution.
The OnePlus Nord has several cameras and is a good choice for photography enthusiasts, albeit it lacks a headphone jack. It has a 10x zoom, 4K video recording at 30 frames per second, and slow-motion video recording in 1080p and 240fps. Despite its shortcomings, the OnePlus has a strong core experience, but it lacks some features that other phones have. Ultimately, it’s an excellent smartphone for the price, but it’s not a great phone for gamers.
OnePlus’ new flagship has many similarities with its predecessor, the OnePlus 8. While the OnePlus Nord has a slightly different design, it does offer a more affordable starting price of PS379 (approximately $484), making it an excellent choice for those who are on a tight budget. Its slim and sleek build make it a comfortable choice, and it’s easy to see why OnePlus is adding the newest notch to its lineup.
The OnePlus Nord’s screen is flat and lacks curved edges, which makes it more bulky and difficult to handle. It also lacks the punch-hole in the front for the selfie camera. While the OnePlus Nord is a great smartphone for those who want a phone with a large display, it is not designed to fit in with the rest of the OnePlus lineup. Oneplus Nord Moreover, despite being expensive, the OnePlus Nord is not a bad option for those who want a small, affordable, and streamlined experience.
Like all other mid-range phones, the OnePlus Nord has some shortcomings. The camera quality isn’t as good as the OnePlus 8 Pro’s, but it is still a decent camera. Its battery life is not as high as its competitors, but it is adequate for most users. Aside from being well-rounded, the OnePlus Nord is a solid mid-range phone with an excellent hardware integration. Its ROM and RAM mirror that of the OnePlus 8 Pro, which makes it a worthy purchase.
